Blame it on the Teachers.
And I’ve been lucky enough to learn from some of the best. During my professional career, I’ve managed to have a seat at the table for everything from script to screen. As a kid, I found myself behind a microphone doing local radio. Before I knew it, I graduated to the small screen hosting PM Magazine in Champaign, Illinois.
Soon, I was writing copy, with stops at Hill Holliday, Cosmopulous, Crowley & Daly, Filene’s Basement, and the Phoenix Media Communications Group, working on the likes of Reebok, Hyatt, The Boston Garden and Kodak to name a few.
25,000 shares was too good to pass up and so it was off to the dot com gold rush. At Voter.com we were the first news organization to stream video during the 2000 Presidential campaign. There, Carl Bernstein taught me how things worked inside the beltway.
The camera beckoned yet again and suddenly I was “Golfing the World.” It is a terrific travel and leisure program. Naturally, when golf season ended, we skied our way to the “The Mountain Report.” It’s a tough job but someone has to do it. Lately that has included a number of diverse projects from commercials to corporate videos to acting.
Fitting the suit.
Sometimes it certainly appears that way. In some cases it’s a uniform as it is in the VIP Auto Parts series that were directed by Carlos Cuellar of Catama Productions in Maine. Whether playing a Priest in a sketch comedy with the FatAwesome Comedy troupe for an MTV 2 pilot or playing it straight as a pitchman in front of a green screen I will fit the suit. Some of those suits include an auto parts Store Manager, a Doctor, a Patient, a Lawyer, a Golfer, a CEO, a Director of Marketing, a Realtor and a Dad while working with the folks at Calaveras Pictures, Extraneous Noise, Methodloft, Catama, FatAwesome, TVN, BCN and DGA.
Name Dropping.
Ok, if we must. Call it the Luck of the Irish, but through the years, I’ve been afforded the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented and particularly bright people. Some of them might actually remember me.
